Programs & Groups

We are pleased to offer a wide selection of programs and groups for families based upon interest and the feedback you provide to us. For some programs, meeting dates, times, and locations are determined by the participants. We’re always looking for new program ideas so please share your thoughts and suggestions with us.

Sports & Games Night

Participate in a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, kickball,dodge ball, whiffle ball, and more. This is a fun, social, and non-competitive program that fosters team-building and sportsmanship.

Friday Fun Night
Ease into the weekend with an evening of games, movies, and special projects with a few friends at the Center.

Family Free Swim
Meet at the Quincy YMCA for a group swim with staff.

Seasonal Art
Learn the fundamentals of art and crafting through seasonal projects. Create for yourself or as a gift for someone special.

Join us for some friendly competition at Timber Lanes in Abington. Individuals will be matched with other bowlers of similar age and experience. Lanes are equipped with bumpers.

Charitable Walk Club
Walk for a cause with Center families and staff. Support local charities while exercising and increasing your stamina and endurance.

Adventure Sports
Indoor rock climbing, kayaking, sailing, surfing, ropes course activities, and trampoline fun are offered throughout the year.

Adult & Children’s Social Groups
Recreational outings and gatherings for adults and children to foster social skills in a variety of fun and interactive settings. Meet new friends or reconnect with former classmates from the south shore area.

Children’s Social Group
This is a fun, interactive, and hands-on group that fosters social skills in a variety of settings for children ages 5-12 years.

A Sibling Support Group: It’s All About Me!
Meet and share your experiences, feelings, and concerns while participating in a fun group activity such as art, bowling, and movie nights.

Handbell Choir
Learn about this beautiful musical art form using color coded bells. Great for improving focus, processing speed, and coordination. Performances will be scheduled throughout the year.

Adult Mentoring
Weekly small group sessions in the local community and Quincy YMCA under the direction and guidance of an adult mentor. Areas of focus include wellness, fitness, and independence.

Alternative Communication Device Loan Program
IPads and alternate communication devices available for your use on a trial basis.
